Steve has written and produced songs that have appeared on Billboard’s Top 100 List. As a studio musician, he has worked with artists such as Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops, Laura Branigan, Tiffany, Olivia Newton-John, Alcatraz, Lisa Fisher, Lee Greenwood, Leon Patillo, Don Francisco and many others. He played on Neil Diamond’s Platinum Sony anniversary CD box set. As an arranger and keyboardist, his television commercials include Mattel, Chevrolet, Purex, Baskin-Robbins, Fantastic Sam’s, General Foods, Nissan, Wherehouse, 20th Century Fox, and NBC, to name a few. As a composer, his commercial credits include Family Feud, Fox 40, (with Sears and Levi Strauss), Charlie Tuna, CBS/KNX1070 news theme and the nationally syndicated Rick Dees and the Weekly Top 40. Steve has been awarded 5 “ADDY”’s for excellence in advertising. He has co-written with successful songwriters such as Michael Jay (credits include songs recorded by Celine Dion, Martika), Stan Sheppard (By All Means, Gerald Albright, DJ Quick), and Annie Roboff (Faith Hill).

Steve’s film credits include Grandview USA (starring Jamie Lee Curtis); the Tri-Star film The Last Dragon, for which he also co-wrote the song “The Shuttle”; Woman in the Room (Stephen King); consultation/equipment rental for Jo Jo Dancer (starring Richard Pryor/Herbie Hancock composer) and other work for Cannon Films. He composed the score for the documentary WMD. Music for television credits include: NBC’s “Life” (song “The One”) also featured in Delta Entertainment and Edwards Cinemas; ESPN; On TV; Rainbow TV Productions‘ Grandbaby and Breakin‘; Warner’s The Prince and The Pizza Boy; Lorimar; and news music for nationwide stations, in addition to CBS and KTLA in Los Angeles. Steve has also been involved in commercials and music for the theme parks SeaWorld and Cypress Gardens, as well as music for an exclusive Nokia/Vertu line of cellphones.

The top Christian artist credits include work with: Darlene Zschech (writer of “Shout to The Lord”), John Tesh, Damaris Carbaugh (Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir soloist), the Parachute Band (Billy Graham crusade in Los Angeles), Leon Patillo, Don Francisco and Steve Amerson (Billy Graham soloist).

As an artist, Steve has two Northward solo piano CDs to his credit as well as a solo piano film/TV project for Source In Sync production library.

Steve is married to singer/songwriter Susie Allanson.
